A wonderful way to travel!! Adds another dimension to your vacation in the Bahamas starting with the most accommodating staff, all excellent crews and the views are great... sometimes of large yachts, cruise ships and rainbows. We've flown several trips between Fort Lauderdale and Bimini and have surprised our guests as well with round trips. All have loved the flights.I highly recommend Tropic Ocean!
I loved the personalized flight experience. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. No walking longs distances through big busy airports with crowds.
This is the best way to get from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini, aside from my own yacht (which only exists in my dreams). The planes are comfortable enough, the pilots (always two of them!) are professional and friendly, and the convenience is second to none. Also, you can’t beat landing at a dock, no line for customs, and literally walk to your hotel (or catch a comp shuttle). Drawbacks: (1) the airline was not particularly friendly when covid restrictions caused me to cancel a flight…I eventually lost an entire ticket with no credit; (2) if you have a fear of flying, the smaller planes can be a little intimidating (although I don’t have that fear, so I enjoy “feeling” the flight); (3) if you pack heavy, you’ll need to rethink that or pay extra (if they have can accept extra weight). But overall, this is the way to go!
Great staff, aircrafts are well maintained and in good condition. Pilots are good and flights are quick and smooth. I'd fly Tropic over their competitors.
Kudos to Ricardo our Captain and Jason his copilot!We were on our way from Ft. to Bimini. Lauderdale and we experienced some severe thunderstorms in Ft. Lauderdale, but after a short wait he found us a small weather window and we made it safely to Bimini! Although it was a little bumpy, we felt absolutely safe! We had a great trip and strongly recommend flying with Tropic Air! We hope you get Ricardo and his co-pilot!!
sandy2023-09-28A quick little getaway This was my first time going to the Bahamas in a seaplane and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been. The captain Ricardo and co-pilot Lisa were amazing and made the flight really enjoyable. They took us on a little fly-by around Bimini and saw an amazing view that you can't see if you were on the ground. 100/10 would do it again with Ricardo and Lisa.

Lets start with the first impression with my Seaplane Experience to Bimini, Tropic Ocean Airways was Easy to find at FLL with Complimentary Valet, I was greeted at the door by the most wonderful people who instructed me on what I was to expect next putting my mind at ease. The lobby was quant and welcoming with The Most adorable Orchid lined coffee station with Flavored coffee, Tea and Cucumber water. Front desk staff/check-in Bri, Ben & Sandro were so nice and helpful! Check-in took 2 mins max and I was ready to go! Bimini Here I Come!! The Seaplane looked Brand New and well kept, Very comfortable. I was introduced to my Pilots YES 2 .. Ricardo & Lisa, They were very Professional and just as Nice and informative as could be!! What a PLEASURE!! Thank you all.... If you have the Chance to Fly Tropic Ocean Airways to the Bahamas, do yourself a Favor and GO!!!
Antony G2023-08-15A nightmare with my family for a little kids So the flight coming over was perfect. They told us to be at the airport at 9:15 which we had to take a cab, a boat and another cab to get to the airport from the other island. We were on at 9:14. I got a phone call telling me that the plane is going to be late they don’t know the time could be 1130 could be 12 which is three hours later than we were supposed to takeoff now the flight is an hour and a half so they knew at 8 o’clock that the plane was going to be late and didn’t call me until two minutes before I was supposed to be at the airport which means that now I’m stranded here with for a little kids It took me three phone calls and the guy said oh there was weather problems. I looked on the weather map. There is zero weather on the whole southeast coast of Florida. I called back and said that’s bull&$@@&. It’s not whether he says OK I’ll have my manager call you , almost an hour later I got a phone call from the manager and they tell me exactly this the pilot flew into weather that he couldn’t see and had to turn around and come back to Florida and they weren’t sure what time he could get back out now again, I tell you that the map was completely clear I had to go and charter another plane to get my family home. I have requested a refund for the second half of this flight because it never took place. I will update this when I know what happens.

We took a sea plane to Bimini and it was great! Pilots and whole staff were top notch and friendly!! Ricardo and Tyler flew us and did a great job!

Hells_Bells812023-02-28Amazing day trip to Bimini We took a day trip to Bimini, Bahamas from Ft Lauderdale with Tropic Ocean Air and everything with them was fabulous. Ricardo and Russell flew us out at 8.30am and back at 4.50pm and we’re so charming and professional. The flight was honestly such an experience in and of itself, making a water landing in Bimini was a first for us and the whole flight was very smooth with amazing views over the Florida coast and Bimini. There’s not a lot to do on Bimini but I’ll definitely be looking into other destinations with Tropic Ocean Air, it’s pricy but worth every penny when you think of the time you save (vs the ferry in this case) and the ease of everything. Definitely five stars and I’m not east to please!!

Lauderdale, aber nach einer kurzen Wartezeit fand er uns ein kleines Wetterfenster und wir schafften es sicher nach Bimini! Obwohl es ein wenig holprig war, fühlten wir uns absolut sicher! Wir hatten eine tolle Reise und empfehlen dringend, mit Tropic Air zu fliegen! Wir hoffen, du bekommst Ricardo und seinen Copiloten!!
