But that scheduled route lands at a land-based airport, roughly an hour and twenty minutes from South Florida. For many travelers, Marsh Harbour is not the final stop. If they are heading to one of the surrounding cays, the arrival at the airport is often followed by additional ground or water transfers before they reach the place they came to see.
That extra step matters. The Abacos are defined by their island communities, harbors, docks, cottages, clubs, beaches, and quiet stretches of water. When the destination is a cay, the most natural arrival is often by seaplane.
