Updated COVID Policy for Travel to The Bahamas

As Stay-at-Home Orders are slowly ending and vaccines have been rolling out, the itch to travel is beginning to arise once again. The thought of traveling to a tropical paradise is enticing as the summer months approach. Islands such as The Bahamas have new COVID-19 policies in place to allow both those vaccinated and those who are not vaccinated to enjoy a tropical oasis in a safe way. Look below to see the updated policy that applies to you!

IF FULLY VACCINATED:

  • If you are fully vaccinated and have passed the 2-week immunity period, you are exempt from testing requirements to enter and travel in The Bahamas.
    • Accepted vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca
  • You must still apply for the Bahamas Travel Health Visa.
    • This takes 48 hours minimum to process, so apply in advance.
  • You must provide proof of your vaccination (CDC/government issued vaccine card). Tropic Ocean Airways STRONGLY recommends bringing your original vaccine card with you to avoid any immigration challenges.
  • You must still adhere to local face mask and social distancing policies.

FOR THOSE WHO AREN’T FULLY VACCINATED:

  • You must complete a daily health questionnaire.
  • IF you are staying longer than 4 nights, you must conduct a rapid COVID-19 antigen test on day 5.
    • There are locations across all islands for testing
  • You must adhere to local face mask and social distancing policies.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN:

  • Children 10 and under are not required to take a test.
  • Children 17 and younger should add a Bahamas Travel Health Visa to the account of their parent or guardian.

FLYING WITH TROPIC OCEAN AIRWAYS INTO THE USA:

  • All passengers, vaccinated or unvaccinated are required to submit a negative antigen test result with a 3-day window of their flight.
    • Exception: if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 3 months, you may submit that as proof instead.
  • The CDC recommends that travelers test 3-5 days after getting back from their trip and staying home until a negative result is received.
