Tropic Ocean Airways operates a mix of late-generation wheeled and amphibious Cessna airframes capable of landing on a runway or sea destination.  Starting with just one Cessna 206 in 2011, Tropic currently operates 6 aircraft. In December of 2014, the company acquired two brand new Cessna Grand Caravan EX models, including one all-wheeled airframe, to add to the fleet. In August of 2015, Tropic Ocean Airways added the latest Caravan to their fleet, a Wheeled Cessna Grand Caravan EX.

Many travelers and private aviation enthusiasts are familiar with the Cessna Caravan; however, the latest Cessna Caravan EX’s are a more powerful, faster, and luxurious aircraft than existing caravans flying in the Florida and Caribbean market.

Meet the Fleet:

The flagship wheeled aircraft in the Tropic Fleet, is “Lady Luck”, a 2015 Cessna 208 Grand Caravan EX, gives you the option of runway-to-runway travel to many destinations throughout the region. Traveling at a cruise speed of 195mph, arrive in style, be luxurious, and at a fraction of the cost for private travel. This plane seats up to 9 guests and has a clean and pristine interior in beige leather.

Our latest wheeled aircraft was named by our fans, “Amelia”, a 2015 Cessna Grand Caravan EX, equipped with the most advanced technology in its class, including a new Garmin G1000 glass cockpit avionics suite, a high powered Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140 engine, and the latest cabin interiors.

This plane accommodates up to 9 guests and has an executive style interior with black and tan two-toned seats.

Flights to St Petersburg, Orlando, Nassau, Great Harbour Cay, Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay, and Jacksonville are only a hop away on either of these wheeled beauties.

The Cessna 206, “Maria”, is the flagship airframe of Tropic that gave us our wings in 2009.  This amazing aircraft was the same plane that flew Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson in the movie “Fools Gold.” This seaplane holds up to 3 guests with a total guest + luggage weight of 750 pounds. This seaplane allows you the opportunity to communication with your pilot as everyone has their own headset while onboard. As this seaplane is commonly seen throughout the Bahamas and Florida Keys, our pilots often refer to Maria and say “She’s a flyer.”

Next, meet Marianne and Lexi! Tropic has brought Caravan seaplane flying to the Bahamas and Florida Keys! Nicknamed Marianne 6TA and Lexi ISX, these Caravan seaplanes hold up to eight guests each. Both aircraft have air conditioned cabins and can accommodate larger groups up to 1500 pounds (guests and bags). Cruising at 140 knots, this seaplane offers a comfortable seaplane flying experience with a world-class view.
