Dear Guests of Tropic,
I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to travel with you. At Tropic Ocean Airways, we pride ourselves on striving to provide a service that does not exist elsewhere in regional aircraft travel.
I founded the company while still serving as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot and TOPGUN graduate, and I realized early on that private air travel in Florida and the Bahamas consistently comes up short in safety,
customer service, and overall guest experience.
We built Tropic on the idea that we are a customer service business that flies airplanes. We know that we can't fly without your support, so we do whatever we can to ensure that your experience with us is nothing but first class.
In order to achieve our goal of 100% customer satisfaction, we built our culture on six core values that ultimately defines who we are, and who we strive to be:
Safe is Right: Our pilots and mechanics are some of the best in the industry, with a variety of backgrounds, including U.S. Military, Alaska bush, and seaplane instruction. All of our flights are flown with two pilots
(rare in smaller aircraft here in South Florida), and follow Standard Operating Procedures and a Brief and Debrief model based on my experiences flying off of aircraft carriers. In addition, we are standardizing our fleet on factory-new, all-weather capable aircraft to ensure reliability.
Be Professional: All of Tropic's team members are expected to strive to become experts in their field through constant study and education while consistently displaying ethical behavior.
A culture of debriefing lessons learned enables each of our team to demonstrate accountability and learn from our mistakes.
Be an Ambassador: Our team members understand that they represent the best of what Tropic strives to be. No matter what the situation, a Tropic team member will handle it with poise.
Be Compassionate: We care about you, our guest. We all understand the frustrations of a flight delay, weather cancellation, etc, as we've all been there. We also know what it is like to just have a bad day.
Whenever the unthinkable happens, a Tropic team member will do his or her best to provide a solution (and a shoulder to cry on).
Find A Way: The words 'no' and 'can't' are not welcome in our organization. We operate with the mentality that obstacles are actually opportunities to showcase our resilience and dedication. Challenge accepted…we always 'Find a Way.'
Do What You Love, and Love What You Do: All of our team members are selected based on several criteria, one of which is a passion for service, travel, and adventure.
Clock-punchers don't exist in our company…everyone here is doing what they love. We also recognize that nothing is perfect, and we learn to love the tough days, too, as they are a price we pay to get the opportunity to serve you, our guest.
For those of you who have flown with us, I thank you for the opportunity to serve you. For you newcomers, I ask that you give us an opportunity to show you what flying Tropic really means.
I also ask that you give us feedback, both positive and negative, to help us continually improve our product.
Thank you for visiting our website, and I look forward to seeing you on a future flight.
All the best,
Rob Ceravolo, CEO
Tropic Ocean Airways
Tropic Ocean Airways consists of late-generation amphibious Cessna airframes capable of landing on a runway or sea destination. Tropic currently has 7 planes in our fleet. In December of 2014, Tropic acquired three brand new Cessna Grand Caravan EX models, including one all-wheeled airframe, to add to the fleet.
Many travelers and private aviation enthusiasts are familiar with the Cessna Caravan; however, the 2014 Cessna Caravan EX’s are a more powerful, faster, and luxurious aircraft than existing caravans flying in the Florida and Caribbean market.
